Personal Reflections

Technology has changed the way society produces, consumes and also relates. Not by chance it also transforms the way we learn and teach.

These new technological resources can enable us to move forward in overcoming major challenges in Brazilian education by increasing access to knowledge, providing richer, more interactive, dynamic resources that help students understand and better use what they learn for their own purposes. In addition to supporting the teacher in building more effective pedagogical strategies. And the result is the construction of a teaching process that dialogues with the students' universe.

Today it is essential that technology is available to schools, teachers and students for free or purchased by the networks as well as the textbook.

My own self-assessment

Throughout "Using New Technologies” module, I tried to do my best and follow all the guidelines to put into practice the knowledge and hints given during the meetings. It is essential to search and ‘realize’ how to use the new technologies merged into the teaching methodology. That said and consider that I still am in trial I wouldn’t dare to arte myself beyond 6 in a scale of 0 to 10.

Developments plann

As a teacher, is my obligation to run towards the increase of all my professional skills and keep myself informed of new developments in within the educational field. Therefore I plan to pursue my masters degree in English Literature and use all the tools of technology to enable easier and more interesting access to works from English language authors such as Jane Austin, Oscar Wilde and Edgar Allan Poe. All my creation needs for classes will tend to be supported by it as a great self-assessment tool

Reflections on my learning

The module "Using New Technologies in English Language Teaching" was responsible for a very interesting step in the postgraduate process. I might consider myself a good one when it comes to the use of technologies. And the new technologies learned, when used for education, brought me many novelties and possibilities. One example was the findings for Google for Education: It provides a range of tools and can even offer certification. This certification, which I am already acquiring through the "Google for Education: Teacher Center". Completely free online classroom training. A type of action that only enhances the work of educators.

 This learning has improved my practice as an English language teacher. There are two distinct stages: the teacher I used to be and the teacher I became, with the certainty of greater evolution over time. It is visible the difference that this whole learning process makes us, my students and me
